Job summary

United Rentals Australia is seeking a hands-on Yard Operator to prepare, organise and maintain rental equipment on site in Sydney. You’ll be involved in equipment inspection, loading and storage management to keep operations moving smoothly.

You will work outdoors in varying weather, operate forklifts, and support adjacent teams while upholding safety standards. The role offers steady hands-on experience with a global leader in equipment rental.

Qualifications

• Experience in equipment hire, construction, transport, logistics, warehousing or a similar industry.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Forklift operating experience and a current LF Licence (preferred).
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting and preparing rental equipment for customer collection and return.
• Cleaning, testing and staging equipment to company standards.
• Safely loading and unloading equipment using forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Organising equipment and yard storage areas to maximise efficiency and accessibility.
• Conducting routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Assisting customers during equipment pick-up and return.
• Supporting workshop, transport and branch operations as required.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard and work environment.
• Contributing to a strong safety culture and positive team environment.

About the Role
