Blue Gum Landscaping Centres is seeking a friendly Yard Hand/ Sales Assistant to support our Maitland and Thornton yards. You will help customers in-store and by phone, assist with loading and stock control, and learn our POS system with on-the-job training.

You'll gain experience in landscaping products, enjoy staff discounts, and have the opportunity to grow your role within a local, trusted company. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
• Experience with landscaping products is a plus but not required.

We pride ourselves on being the go-to destination for both trades and backyard warriors, offering a wide range of quality landscape supplies and exceptional customer service.

About the Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Yard Hand/ Sales Assistant to join our team at the both the Maitland & Thornton Yards. If you are keen to learn all there is to know about landscape products this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve customers in-store and over the phone
• Assist with loading customers and stock control in the yard
• Provide friendly, professional customer service
• Operate our computer-based point-of-sale system (training provided)
• Assist customers with product selection and basic advice
• Help schedule deliveries to ensure timely customer service

About You

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Confident communicator with a professional phone manner
• Comfortable using computers and willing to learn new systems
• Knowledge of landscaping products or experience in a similar industry is an advantage (but not essential)
• Truck and/or forklift licence highly regarded
• School leavers keen to start a career in the landscaping industry are encouraged to apply
