Job summary

Bedrock Workforce is seeking Yard Hands for established construction contractors in Penrith. This full-time, permanent role focuses on keeping the yard safe, organised and efficient, with opportunities to improve processes and equipment readiness for crews.

You’ll start by tidying and reorganising the yard layout, then take on responsibilities like stock control, gear readiness, pre-start checks, and coordinating servicing. A clear path to growth into broader yard/operator roles is offered.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background or hands-on experience with cars/vehicles.
• Current HR licence or hands-on vehicle experience.
• Strong attention to detail for checks and records.
• Reliable with initiative and safety focus.
• Basic computer skills for registers/records.

Responsibilities

• Keep yard clean, safe, and well laid out.
• Load, unload, and organise materials, equipment and deliveries.
• Maintain stock levels and inventory accuracy.
• Prepare gear for crews when needed.
• Perform pre-start and routine vehicle/plant checks.
• Manage plant, equipment, tools and maintenance registers; coordinate servicing/repairs.
• Move vehicles around the yard and to sites.
