Job summary

Chandler Macleod represents a leading national paper manufacturer seeking a dependable Yard Hand in Sydney. The role entails busy industrial site duties, keeping the site clean, and supporting day-to-day operations on a full-time roster.

You’ll perform housekeeping, assist with maintenance tasks, and help with conveyors and equipment while prioritising safety. Outdoor physical work, teamwork, and a commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, warehousing or industrial environments.
• Ability to perform physical outdoor work and long hours on a roster.
• Strong focus on safety and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sweep corridors, walkways and operational areas to keep spaces clean.
• Use blowers to maintain clean and safe workspaces.
• Hose down work areas as required and clean around conveyors.
• Perform general housekeeping and yard maintenance.
• Assist with site operational activities and labour tasks.
• Operate forklift and handle materials where licensed.
• Follow strict workplace health and safety procedures.
• Support the operations team with daily duties as required.

Our client is a leading national paper manufacturing company and is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Hand to join their team. Working within a busy industrial environment, you'll be responsible for maintaining site cleanliness, supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring work areas remain safe and efficient.

About the Role

Key duties will include:

• Sweeping corridors, walkways and operational areas
• Using blowers to maintain clean and safe workspaces
• Hosing down work areas as required
• Cleaning around conveyors and production equipment
• General housekeeping and yard maintenance
• Forklift operation and material handling (where licensed)
• Assisting with site operational and maintenance activities
• Following strict workplace health and safety procedures
• Supporting the operations team with general labouring duties as required

What We're Looking For

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Reliability and commitment to long-term employment
• Previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, labouring, yard hand or industrial environments
• Ability to perform physical work and work outdoors when required
• Strong focus on safety and following procedures
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Current driver's licence preferred
• Forklift licence highly regarded but not essential
