Job summary

ACT Steelworks is seeking a reliable Yardsperson to join our team. This hands-on role keeps the workshop and yard organised, safe, and operating efficiently, with a focus on material movement and stock control.

Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator & Workshop Manager, you will load and unload, operate a forklift, check deliveries, and maintain yard organisation. A strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence required and current.
• Experience in yard, warehouse, workshop or construction.
• Ability to handle manual lifting and physical tasks safely.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and company vehicles.
• Operate a forklift to move steel and materials safely.
• Receive and check incoming deliveries.
• Maintain yard, storage and stock areas.
• Assist with stock control and material organisation.
• Prepare materials for collection or delivery.
• Carry out routine yard and housekeeping duties.
• Support workshop staff with material movements and coordination.
