Job summary

Complete Metal Industries is seeking an energetic Yard Coordinator / Forklift Operator to lead our busy scrap metal yard in Sydney, NSW. This hands-on role requires coordinating truck movements, directing drivers and occasionally operating a forklift to move materials.

You will work with machine operators, weighbridge staff and management, maintain high housekeeping and safety standards, prioritise tasks during busy periods and ensure the yard remains organised and productive.

Qualifications

• Excellent communicator over two-way radio.
• Confident in giving clear instructions to drivers.
• Energetic, agile and able to be on your feet all day.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate incoming and outgoing truck movements in the yard.
• Direct drivers to loading, unloading and processing areas.
• Communicate clearly using two-way radio.
• Work with machine operators, drivers, weighbridge staff and management.
• Operate forklifts to move, load and unload materials.
• Monitor traffic flow and prevent congestion.
• Keep loading/unloading areas organised and accessible.
• Prioritise jobs when the yard is busy.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards across the site.
• Identify issues early and report to the right people.
• Be hands-on and help the team as needed.
