Job summary

ACT Steelworks is seeking a reliable Heavy Vehicle Operator to join our team in a fast-paced steel fabrication environment. You will operate heavy vehicles for deliveries and pickups, load and unload using crane and forklift, and ensure loads are restrained and secured according to transport requirements.

This hands-on role requires your 5–10 years driving experience, valid HC or MC licence, and a good driving record.

Qualifications

• HC or MC Licence is required.
• 5–10 year driving record.
• Experience loading/unloading operations.
• Dogging or rigging tickets.
• Physically fit for manual tasks.
• Experience in steel, construction or fabrication environments.
• Strong load restraint and transport compliance knowledge.

ACT Steelworks is seeking a reliable and experienced Heavy Vehicle Operator to join our team. This is a hands‑on role involving deliveries, loading and unloading, and general yard duties.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Operator to join our team. You'll be behind the wheel of our heavy transport fleet, helping with loading and unloading activities, and working alongside a great crew in a fast‑paced steel fabrication environment.

Key Duties

Operate heavy vehicles for deliveries and pick-ups

Load and unload trucks using crane and forklift

Secure loads in accordance with requirements

Assist with yard operations, material handling, and general duties

Conduct pre‑start checks and maintain vehicle condition

Work in line with WHS and Chain of Responsibility obligations

Valid HC or MC Licence

CV or C2 Licence

Proven experience in loading and unloading operations

Ability to work safely in a workshop and yard environment

Strong understanding of load restraint and transport compliance

Additional Requirements

Provide 5-10 year driving record

Good communication and teamwork skills

Physically fit and capable of manual tasks

Experience working in steel, construction, or fabrication environments
