We are looking for an experienced and proactive Workshop Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our Muswellbrook workshop.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Workshop Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our Muswellbrook workshop.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, improving processes and creating a safe, productive and high‑performing workshop environment.

About the role

As Workshop Supervisor, you will take responsibility for coordinating workshop activities and supporting the team to deliver work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Working closely with the Leading Hand and State Manager, you will provide leadership and technical direction while ensuring workflow, quality, safety and customer requirements are effectively managed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, supporting and mentoring workshop employees
• Planning daily workshop activities and coordinating workflow with the Leading Hand
• Providing technical support and direction to employees and customers
• Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
• Conducting toolbox talks and promoting a strong safety culture
• Planning and quoting workshop jobs and signing off completed work
• Managing timesheets and leave requests
• Liaising with customers, sales staff, suppliers and other RIMEX branches
• Ensuring crack testing and welding processes meet Australian Standards
• Overseeing dispatch and receiving activities and ensuring products meet required quality standards
• Training and mentoring apprentices and workshop employees
• Supporting inventory and budgeting activities
• Identifying opportunities to improve tooling, processes, productivity, safety and cost effectiveness
• Ensuring job documentation is completed accurately and appropriately maintained

About you

We are looking for someone who can combine strong workshop knowledge with confident, practical leadership.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a workshop supervisory or leadership position
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of workshop operations
• Demonstrated people leadership and team development skills
• A strong commitment to safety and quality
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to organise workflow, prioritise competing demands and manage your time effectively
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and positive change

A trade qualification is advantageous but not essential for a candidate with the right experience and capability.
