Job summary

AVCRO PTY LTD is seeking a Workshop Supervisor - Components to lead the day-to-day operations of the BNE Workshop in Brisbane, Monday to Friday. The role focuses on safe, compliant maintenance, repair, inspection and certification of aircraft components in accordance with CASA Part 145 requirements.

You will oversee planning, resource allocation and collaboration with RM-C, drive continuous improvement, ensure documentation accuracy and support urgent AOG priorities while mentoring technicians

Job description

AVCRO PTY LTD is seeking a Workshop Supervisor - Components Monday to Friday roster based at our BNE Workshop at Brisbane Airport, QLD.

Reporting to the Responsible Manager - Components (RM-C), this full-time role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of AVCRO’s component repair and overhaul workshop. The position plays a key role in ensuring maintenance, repair, inspection, documentation and certification activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with CASA regulatory requirements, AVCRO procedures, customer expectations and approved maintenance data.

AVCRO is an Australian founded and based aircraft services company headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland. Established locally in 2015, AVCRO is an emerging Part 145 AMO providing aircraft Line, Base and Component Maintenance solutions to the aviation sector nationally. The ideal candidate will be expected to:

• Lead, supervise and coordinate the repair, inspection, overhaul and testing of aircraft components within the BNE Workshop;
• Plan and allocate daily workshop activities, including labour, tooling, parts, downtime, expenditure and work detail to support efficient workflow and timely component delivery;
• Provide leadership and accountability to AVCRO’s Responsible Manager - Components (RM-C) while working collaboratively with Line and Base Responsible Managers;
• Support the raising and management of jobs, tasks, Engineering Orders, progress reports and customer updates;
• Assist with Aircraft on Ground (AOG) requirements as needed, supporting urgent operational priorities, component availability and timely technical responses;
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with approved data, AVCRO procedures, customer requirements and applicable aviation regulations;
• Maintain accurate work pack documentation, certification records and traceability as work progresses;
• Generate or support the generation of CASA Form 1 / Authorised Release Certificates where authorised and required;
• Lead daily toolbox meetings, delegate tasks appropriately and ensure work is followed through to completion;
• Mentor, train and support technicians to promote high performance, accountability, safety and professional growth;
• Promote AVCRO’s Just Culture, WHS, aviation safety and quality reporting processes, including effective follow-up and stakeholder input;
• Investigate and assist with resolving quality issues, technical concerns or customer complaints in consultation with management and quality assurance teams;
• Manage workshop tooling, GSE, consumables and inventory requirements, ensuring equipment is serviceable, calibrated, controlled and used correctly; and
• Demonstrate commercial awareness by supporting cost control, resource planning and efficient use of workshop capacity.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical capability, practical workshop leadership experience and a commitment to safe, compliant and efficient aviation maintenance outcomes.

• Experience supervising or leading aircraft component maintenance, repair, overhaul or inspection activities;
• Demonstrated knowledge of CASA Part 145 requirements, approved maintenance data, certification, traceability and aviation maintenance documentation;.
• Skilled in aviation sheetmetal work, with the ability to provide hands‑on technical support, guidance and quality oversight as required;
• Ability to lead skilled technicians, allocate work, monitor progress and maintain high-quality standards under operational timeframes;
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide clear customer updates, management reports and professional stakeholder communication;
• Sound planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage workflow, priorities, resources and competing workshop demands;
• Commitment to safety, quality, FOD control, Human Factors principles and continuous improvement; and
• Intermediate IT skills and willingness to use AVCRO maintenance, job management and reporting systems.

Highly regarded

• Current or previous authorisation as a Certifying Employee within a CASA Part 145 environment;
• Experience generating CASA Form 1 / Authorised Release Certificates;
• Experience with aircraft component workshop planning, Aerotrack or similar maintenance management systems;
• Background in aviation component overhaul, specialist maintenance, workshop production control or technical supervision; and
• Experience with MEA405 repairing and modifying composite material, desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate must be able to pass an initial Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP) test and maintain compliance with ongoing physical DAMP screening requirements;

The role requires adherence to AVCRO’s DAMP policy, which mandates a negative reading for both drugs and alcohol at all times while on shift;

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), which includes a Police Check, for work within a secure aviation environment;

A complete medical assessment and clearance may also be required to confirm fitness for the role; and

The role may require travel as requested or required to support AVCRO’s broader operational requirements, including workshop, line, base or component maintenance support as directed.
