Job summary

Lindsay Australia Limited seeks a Workshop Supervisor to lead our Derrimut workshop operations in Melbourne. You will oversee repairs, mentor technicians, and ensure fleet readiness and safety across our transport fleet.

You will drive daily maintenance, coordinate tasks, and promote efficiency, safety, and high performance in a busy workshop environment. This is a key leadership role with growth opportunities in our Aus-wide business.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair across fleet vehicles (prime movers, rigids, trailers).
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Plan, prioritise and allocate daily tasks to technicians.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment and spare parts inventory.
• Ensure accurate maintenance and repair documentation.
• Lead, mentor and supervise workshop staff.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and promote a safety culture.

Based at Lindsay Transport's Derrimut workshop in Melbourne, the Workshop Supervisor will lead day-to-day maintenance operations, oversee repairs, mentor a team of skilled technicians, and ensure our fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.

What You'll Do

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced mechanic or workshop leader looking to take the next step in their career. You'll play a key role in maintaining fleet reliability, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring the workshop operates safely and efficiently.

• Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and inventory of spare parts.
• Ensure accurate completion of maintenance and repair documentation
• Lead, mentor, and supervise workshop employees.
• Demonstrating safe work practices, leading by example and promoting a safe work culture.
