Job summary

Lindsay Australia is seeking an Auto Electrician to join our busy Workshop team in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane. The role involves diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on our fleet, with a focus on reducing downtime and ensuring compliance.

You will work with test equipment, service vehicles, and assist with refrigeration units, trailers, and electrical components. Applicants must have relevant licenses and a hands-on, reliable approach in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology required.
• Trade Certificate of Completion or Proficiency required.
• ARC refrigerant handling license (ARCtick) preferred.
• Electrician and Air-conditioning Licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reduce downtime through accurate diagnostics and proactive electrical maintenance.
• Use test equipment to locate electrical faults.
• Dismantle and remove electrical and electronic assemblies and components.
• Connect power-operated components and equipment to power supplies.
• Perform routine servicing and maintenance on fleet vehicles.
• Assist with repairing refrigeration units and air-conditioning systems.
• Work on trailers, alternators, generators, and wiring to ensure safe operation.
• Complete paperwork accurately for fleet maintenance and repair.

What You’ll Do:

• Play a vital role in reducing downtime, improve compliance, and prevent costly breakdowns through accurate diagnostics and proactive electrical maintenance.
• Using test equipment to locate electrical and electronic malfunctions
• Dismantling and removing electrical and electronic assemblies and components
• Connecting power operated components and equipment to power supplies
• Performing routine servicing and maintenance
• Assist with the repairing refrigeration units
• Working on trailers, air con, alternators, generators, voltage regulators, starter motors, ignition switches, electrical wiring and various other mechanical and electrical parts to ensure the safe operation of company vehicles
• Completing work in a safe and efficient manner
• Accurate completion of all paperwork associated with fleet maintenance and repair

What You’ll Bring:

• Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology
• Trade Certificate of Completion or Proficiency
• ARC refrigerant handling license (ARCtick)
• Electrician and Air-conditioning Licence (preferable)
• Aptitude for hands on work and operating with a range of tools and equipment
• Professional manner with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Motivated, reliable and a good work ethic
• Teamwork focus with a positive attitude
