The Lindsay Australia Group is inviting applications for its 2027 Apprenticeship Program in Derrimut, Melbourne, offering a Heavy Diesel Mechanic Apprentice position. You'll learn on-the-job with experienced technicians, service and repair heavy vehicles, and work with leading brands in a modern fleet.

This structured program provides hands-on training, TAFE attendance, and clear pathways to a Certificate III and further dual-trade opportunities while joining a supportive, safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• You don’t need to be an expert mechanic—attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn count.
• Interest in trucks, engines or heavy vehicles is preferred.
• Must be motivated to complete the apprenticeship and learn on the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist with servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles and trailers.
• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
• Support breakdown and accident repairs when required.
• Work with modern workshop tools, equipment and diagnostic technology.
• Complete maintenance and repair documentation.
• Follow safe work practices and maintain a clean work environment.
• Attend TAFE and workplace training as part of your apprenticeship.

We're looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team in Derrimut, Melbourne and start a rewarding career as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic Apprentice. This is your opportunity to learn from experienced technicians, work on a modern fleet, and gain the skills needed to become a qualified tradesperson. You'll get hands-on experience with leading brands including Kenworth, DAF, Cummins, and BPW, while learning everything from routine servicing and preventative maintenance through to diagnostics, repairs, and breakdown support. What You’ll Be Doing:
