Job summary

Next Day Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Workshop/Operations Co-ordinator for our client, an established engineering business in the Sydney North Shore region. You will own live technical jobs from initial customer request through quoting, procurement, scheduling, delivery and invoicing.

You will sit between customers, operations, procurement and the workshop, ensuring jobs move smoothly through the workshop and into delivery to customers.

Qualifications

• Must be able to quote technical jobs.
• Trade or technical background in mechanical, hydraulics, HVAC, boilermaking or similar.
• Experience in project coordination/estimating in a workshop, industrial or service business.

Responsibilities

• Quote technical jobs and send quotes to customers.
• Raise POs, source parts and materials, chase supplier lead times.
• Prioritise and schedule jobs with the Workshop Supervisor.
• Be main point of contact for customers and update on progress/delivery.
• Monitor stock levels, forecast requirements and keep records accurate.
• Process quotes, POs and invoices through ERP/MRP.
• Spot bottlenecks and improve movement of jobs through workshop.

The Company & You:

An established engineering business with a busy workshop and manufacturing team working on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, valves, pumps and gauges.

This is not a corporate PM role. You'll run live technical jobs from the customer's first request through quoting, parts, scheduling, delivery and invoicing. You sit between customers, operations, procurement and the workshop, and keep jobs moving.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Quoting: Price jobs from customer requests, send quotes and follow them up.
• Purchasing: Raise POs, source parts and materials, chase supplier lead times.
• Scheduling: Prioritise and schedule jobs with the Workshop Supervisor.
• Customers: Main point of contact, keeping them updated on progress and delivery.
• Inventory: Monitor stock levels, forecast requirements and keep records accurate.
• Invoicing: Process quotes, POs and invoices through ERP / MRP.
• Improvement: Spot bottlenecks and improve how jobs move through the workshop.

What You Need:

• Able to quote technical jobs. This is a must.
• Trade or technical background, such as mechanical, hydraulics, HVAC, boilermaking or similar.
• Project coordination, project management or estimating experience in a workshop, industrial or service business.
• Purchasing, supply chain or inventory experience, including forecasting.
• ERP / MRP experience, SAP well regarded.
• Strong Excel and Outlook.
• Comfortable out on the workshop floor.
