Job summary

Bare Demolition is seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman to take charge of daily workshop operations, maintenance scheduling and fault-finding for our fleet and equipment.

You will lead a hands-on team, coordinate repairs with external providers and drive improvements to reliability and efficiency while upholding safety standards on site.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate all repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance for company machinery, trucks, vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Monitor maintenance schedules and ensure servicing and repairs are completed on time to minimise equipment downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical and equipment issues and provide technical support and practical solutions to workshop staff and operational teams.
• Undertake and coordinate the ongoing servicing, maintenance and repair of power tools and small equipment.
• Maintain accurate service, repair and maintenance records for plant, vehicles and equipment.
• Coordinate external repairers, suppliers and service providers where required.
• Assist with the management of spare parts, workshop supplies and consumables.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend practical solutions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all workshop activities are undertaken in accordance with WHS requirements, company procedures and safe work practices.
• Lead by example and encourage a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Review existing workshop practices and develop and implement procedures to optimise workshop operations, efficiency and productivity.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Foreman to take responsibility for the efficient day-to-day operation of our workshop and the coordination of / hand on approach to maintenance, servicing and repair of our fleet of machinery, trucks, vehicles, tools and equipment.

This is a key role for someone who is highly organised, mechanically minded and proactive, with the ability to identify improvements, solve problems and ensure our equipment is maintained to a high standard and ready for operation when required.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate all repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance for company machinery, trucks, vehicles, tools and equipment.

Monitor maintenance schedules and ensure servicing and repairs are completed on time to minimise equipment downtime.

About You

The successful applicant will be a practical, experienced and motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining a well-run workshop.

You will ideally have:

Strong knowledge of tools, plant and equipment used in the construction and demolition industry, how they work and the application on site.

Previous experience as a Workshop Foreman, Workshop Supervisor, Leading Hand, Mechanic or similar position.

Strong mechanical knowledge of trucks, heavy machinery, plant and equipment would be an advantage.

Experience coordinating preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs.

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

The ability to establish systems and procedures that improve workshop efficiency.

Good organisational and time-management skills.

A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

The ability to communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, management, suppliers and external service providers.

A hands-on approach and willingness to assist with repairs and maintenance when required.

Strong communication skills both verbally and written

Ability to use MS Office and inventory software

Relevant mechanical or trade qualifications will be highly regarded.
