Job summary

Brooks Hire is seeking a skilled Workshop Foreman to lead the workshop operations for our extensive earthmoving fleet across Australia. You will supervise technicians, coordinate servicing, and ensure repairs are completed to OEM standards while maintaining safety protocols.

This hands-on role requires a trade qualification in heavy duty plant mechanics, several years’ experience, and the ability to manage a small team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Heavy Duty Plant Mechanics is required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Plant Mechanic.
• Experience managing a team is essential.
• Solid knowledge of Heavy Duty Equipment.
• Competence in routine maintenance procedures.
• Driver Licence with HR preferred.
• Forklift/High-risk work licenses desirable.
• Hands-on approach with computer skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pass a Medical including a Drug & Alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Lead workshop operations and coordinate servicing of earthmoving equipment.
• Supervise a maintenance team and allocate tasks effectively.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs and diagnostics.
• Dispatch equipment to sites and coordinate with clients.
• Maintain stock records and conduct regular stock takes.
• Collaborate with branches and ensure safety standards.

We are on the lookout for a skilled Workshop Foreman to join our team. As the Workshop Foreman, you'll play a pivotal role in leading the workshop operations, handling the servicing and maintenance of our extensive earthmoving equipment. Your responsibilities will range from team management, mechanical diagnosis and repairs to equipment dispatch, stock takes, and client coordination.

What we're looking for:

• Trade qualification in Heavy Duty Plant Mechanics (Essential)
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Plant Mechanic
• Experience managing a team
• Solid knowledge of Heavy Duty Equipment
• Competence in routine maintenance procedures
