Job summary

Brooks Hire is seeking a Workshop Foreman to lead our Melbourne workshop, overseeing servicing and maintenance of a large earthmoving fleet. You will manage a team, perform mechanical diagnosis and repairs, and coordinate with clients to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires a trade qualification in heavy-duty plant mechanics, at least 3 years as a plant mechanic, strong leadership, and hands-on computer skills. A driver license (HR preferred) and medical clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Heavy Duty Plant Mechanics (Essential).
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Plant Mechanic
• Experience managing a team
• Solid knowledge of Heavy Duty Equipment
• Competence in routine maintenance procedures
• Driver Licence, HR preferred
• Forklift/High-risk work licences desirable
• Hands-on approach with sound computer skills
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to pass a Medical including a Drug & Alcohol test

Responsibilities

• Lead workshop operations and oversee servicing and maintenance of earthmoving equipment.
• Manage a workshop team, schedule work, and ensure timely repairs.
• Perform mechanical diagnosis and repairs, dispatch equipment, and coordinate with clients.
• Maintain stock control and conduct regular stock takes.
