Job summary

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia is seeking a qualified trades professional for its Remanufacturing Workshop. You will disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble and test major components in a structured workshop.

Qualified Fitters, Machinists, Automotive Mechanics or equivalent are welcome. This is a permanent, full-time role with career development and a fully supported team in a modern facility.

Qualifications

  • A recognised trade qualification as a Fitter & Machinist, Diesel Fitter, Automotive Mechanic or equivalent mechanical trade.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capability.
  • Experience in overhaul of hydraulic components and maintenance of hydraulic systems would be well regarded.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to follow structured processes in a repetitive, precision-focused environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing, component rebuild, automotive or heavy industry environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly and testing activities on components to OEM standards
  • Accurately assess component condition and identify wear, defects and required repairs
  • Follow established remanufacturing processes, quality standards and procedures
  • Use precision measuring equipment, hand tools and workshop equipment safely
  • Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate job-related documentation
  • Work collaboratively with tradespeople and support teams to meet workshop targets
  • Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the workshop
  • Support continuous improvement focused on quality, productivity and safety
  • Contribute to a positive team culture built on professionalism and accountability

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified trades professional to join Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia’s Remanufacturing Workshop. This is a permanent, fulltime opportunity where you will be involved in the disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly and testing of major components in a structured workshop environment.

As the Ideal Candidate, You Will Have:
  • A recognised trade qualification as a Fitter & Machinist, Diesel Fitter, Automotive Mechanic or equivalent mechanical trade
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capability
  • Experience in the overhaul of hydraulic components and maintenance of hydraulic systems would be well regarded.

  • The ability to follow structured processes and work accurately in a repetitive, precision-focused environment
  • Experience within manufacturing, component rebuild, automotive, heavy industry or similar mechanical environments

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team
  • Basic computer literacy skills, including the ability to complete online training, access emails and enter workshop information
