Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a skilled Workshop Fitter to join our Brisbane workshop. This full-time role offers a stable schedule, Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with OT potential and employee benefits.

You will build, machine and recondition driveshafts for various applications, join, weld and balance components, and take on general workshop tasks with a focus on safety and quality. We value hands-on mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Well-developed fitting and machining skills gained in a workshop environment.
• Sound mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
• Experience operating manual lathes and welding equipment is essential.
• Demonstrate flexibility with job tasks and willingness to learn.

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Fitter to join our team. This role is a for a mechanically minded person with good attention to detail. You will be self-motivated and adaptable as the job requires.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity for a person that is looking for career stability and a good work/life balance.

Duties and responsibilities

• Build and reconditioning driveshafts for automotive, commercial, off highway and industrial applications.
• Machine of driveline components.
• Assemble, welding, and balancing of driveshafts.
• General workshop duties as required.

To be successful in this role you need

• Well-developed fitting and machiningskills obtained in a workshop environment.
• Have a sound mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
• Experience operating manual lathes and welding equipment is essential.
• Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility with job tasks.
• The ability to participate in ongoing training and be open to new ideas.
• Proven safety and quality focus & Perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with Company's Health & Safety policies & procedures.
• A willingness to work as part of a team, and do whatever is required, to help achieve business targets.
