Job summary

Midcoast Trucks in Macksville is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead our workshop team and manage daily workflow with precision. You will guide technicians, allocate priority jobs, and ensure adherence to OEM and dealership standards for heavy vehicle repairs.

The role demands a proven leader, strong diagnostic skills, and experience in a dealership environment—Isuzu exposure highly regarded. HR licence or willingness to obtain is preferred, with relocation support available.

Qualifications

  • Must be a trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Technician.
  • Experience as a Foreman, Workshop Controller or Senior Technician.
  • Background in heavy mechanical repairs; truck experience preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and technical capability.
  • Confident leader with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dealership and Isuzu experience highly regarded.
  • HR Licence or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong time-management and computer skills.

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Controller / Service Controller to join our Macksville Workshop Team. For the right candidate, this role is available immediately.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and support technicians and apprentices on the workshop floor
  • Schedule and control daily workshop workflow and priorities
  • Allocate jobs based on skill level, availability and urgency
  • Provide technical guidance, diagnostic support and quality oversight

About You
