Kawana Equipment Hire is seeking a Workshop Assistant to join our team in Warana, Sunshine Coast on a full-time basis. This hands-on role supports the mechanic and helps keep our hire fleet ready for customers, with responsibilities ranging from maintenance to pre-delivery inspections and customer assistance.

We value a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and safe working practices. A full Australian driver’s licence is essential, and forklift or machinery operation certs are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a workshop, hire, or maintenance environment is preferred but not essential.
• Must have full Australian driver’s licence.
• Forklift or machinery operation certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist with maintenance, servicing, and repair of hire equipment.
• Prepare equipment for hire via pre-delivery inspections.
• Clean and service equipment after return from hire.
• Assist customers, load and unload equipment.
• Occasional deliveries and collection to workshop sites.
• Organise and maintain workshop tools, parts inventory and work area.
• Support the mechanic with component replacement and assembly work.
• Maintain accurate records of servicing and maintenance activities.
• Follow health and safety procedures and company policies.

Kawana Equipment Hire is seeking a Workshop Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis in Warana, Sunshine Coast. This is a hands-on position that plays a vital role in maintaining and preparing our hire equipment fleet to the highest standards. As a Workshop Assistant, you will work alongside an experienced mechanic supporting the efficient operation of our workshop facilities and ensuring our equipment is ready for customers when they need it.

Key responsibilities

Assisting with the maintenance, servicing, and repair of hire equipment

Preparing equipment for hire by conducting pre-delivery inspections

Cleaning and servicing equipment following return from hire

Assisting customers, loading and unloading equipment

Occasional deliveries and collection to workshop sites

Organising and maintaining workshop tools, parts inventory, and work area

Supporting the mechanic, including component replacement and assembly work

Maintaining accurate records of equipment servicing and maintenance activities

Adhering to all health and safety procedures and company policies

What we're looking for

Relevant experience in a workshop, hire, or maintenance environment is preferred but not essential

A strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills and techniques

Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks, including lifting and moving equipment

Basic mechanical understanding or aptitude for developing practical skills

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Strong organisational and time management abilities

Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions carefully

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Full Australian driver's licence essential

Relevant certifications such as forklift or machinery operation (preferred)
