Job summary

HR Partners in NSW is seeking an Electrical Assembler to support defence sector projects in a modern Sydney-area workshop. You will assist in building, testing, and integrating high-precision electrical and electromechanical assemblies for underwater sensor systems.

Role focuses on fine soldering, wiring, and testing; reading technical drawings; and maintaining high quality in a clean, climate-controlled environment. On-going positions with potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in fine assembly, micro-soldering, cable harnessing, or detailed mechanical/electrical work.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings, wiring diagrams, or assembly instructions.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination.
• Australian Citizenship with eligibility for Defence security clearance.

• Point-to-point wiring and cable loom for underwater sensor systems.

About the Role

Join a leading team of acoustics specialists working on high-precision underwater acoustic, sonar, and anti-submarine warfare technologies for major naval and commercial projects.

Working in a modern workshop alongside expert technicians and engineers, you will assist in building, testing, and integrating mission-critical electrical and electromechanical assemblies.

What You'll Be Doing

Assembly & Integration: Fine soldering, sub-assembly integration, and component fitting

Wiring & Harnessing: Point-to-point wiring and cable looming for advanced underwater sensor systems

Testing: Basic continuity and circuit testing using multimeters

Quality & Specs: Following detailed technical drawings, schematics, and visual assembly instructions

What We're Looking For

Experience Over Qualifications: A trade qualification is not required—we value hands-on experience in fine assembly, micro-soldering, cable harnessing, or detailed mechanical/electrical work

Key Skills: Excellent attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination

Technical Aptitude: Ability to read basic technical drawings, wiring diagrams, or assembly work instructions

Eligibility: Must be an Australian Citizen (required to obtain basic Australian Defence Security Clearance)
