Job summary

Shire of Campaspe in Tongala, Victoria, is seeking a Works Plant Operator to operate and maintain a range of plant and equipment for road and infrastructure projects. This permanent full-time role offers hands-on work and the chance to contribute to the municipality’s road network.

You will join an experienced team, perform drainage and concrete repair works, and ensure safety and compliance with OH&S standards. A competitive salary and manageable roster are provided.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining plant and equipment used in road maintenance and construction activities.
• Construction Induction Card is required.
• Heavy Rigid Vehicle Licence required.
• Satisfactory National Police Check required.
• Pre-employment medical assessment may be required.
• Victorian Employee Working with Children Check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repair works on both sealed and unsealed roads.
• Operate a broad range of plant and machinery in a safe and effective manner.
• Perform drainage maintenance across Council’s network, including pit cleaning, pipe and kerb repairs, and open drain clearing.
• Undertake concrete repair works, including grinding, asphalt wedging and reinstatements.
• Safely operate and maintain plant, machinery, equipment, and tools in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a safe working environment and comply with relevant codes of practice, OH&S legislation, Council policies, and procedures.

• Remuneration: $71,226.50 to $75,183.64 per annum, plus superannuation & leave loading
