Job summary

Mildura Rural City Council, based at the Red Cliffs Depot, invites applications for a technical support role within the Infrastructure Works team. You will assist in engineering, road construction, asset management and capital works projects, contributing to planning, design and delivery.

The ideal candidate holds an Engineering/Drafting/Surveying qualification with project delivery experience, CAD proficiency, and a current driver's licence.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma qualifications in Engineering, Drafting, Surveying, Civil Set-out or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
  • Experience delivering projects, including contract documents, estimates, supervision and site inspection reports.
  • Proficiency in civil surveying procedures and CAD with ability to apply standards and regulations.

Be part of a dynamic team based at our Red Cliffs Depot delivering essential infrastructure projects, assisting with project design, investigations, asset management and the successful delivery of road and civil works.

About the Opportunity

Provide technical support to the Infrastructure Works team by assisting with engineering, road construction and maintenance, asset management and capital works projects. Responsibilities include project planning and design, preparing contract documentation, surveying and investigations, estimating works, monitoring project delivery, providing technical advice, and assisting in the development of project scopes and plans for Council's capital works program.

What you will bring

Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

  • Degree or Diploma qualifications and experience in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Drafting, Surveying, and Civil Set-out or lessor formal qualification with extensive relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of projects, including preparing contract documents, jobs estimates, site work supervision and the production of site inspection reports.
  • Experience in civil surveying procedures and Computer Aided Drafting with the ability to apply specifications, standards, codes, acts, and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of road construction and maintenance works, drainage works and traffic design principles.
  • A current Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or willing to obtain one prior to employment.
  • OH&S Construction Induction Card
Salary and conditions

The position is classified within Band 6 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement commencing at $96,410 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
