Job summary

Warrnambool City Council is seeking a Municipal Maintenance and Construction Worker to join our permanent full-time team. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining roads, footpaths, drains, and public assets to keep Warrnambool safe and well presented.

You will operate heavy plant and equipment, perform routine servicing, and follow SOPs and SWMS to ensure safe, efficient work. This position offers a strong local government career with good benefits.

Job Description

Warrnambool City Council is seeking a motivated and reliable Municipal Maintenance and Construction Worker to join our dedicated team in a permanent full-time capacity.

This hands-on role is essential to maintaining the safety, functionality and presentation of our city's infrastructure. You will be part of a supportive team that takes pride in keeping Warrnambool's roads, footpaths, and public assets in top condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain heavy plant and equipment, including (but not limited to) front end loaders, backhoes, trucks, and street cleaning machinery.
  • Assist with the construction and maintenance of roads, footpaths, drains, and other Council assets.
  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment in accordance with Council safety procedures.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently by adhering to Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
  • Maintain designated work areas to the required standard, ensuring the timely completion of all assigned duties.

The Benefits

This is a permanent full-time position with an annual salary of $71,158 per annum (including industry allowance), plus superannuation.
