Job summary

The Northern Land Council is seeking a Workplace Relations Business Partner to advise employees and people leaders on employment matters, including probation, performance, conduct, grievances, complaints and separations. You will manage a varied caseload and help resolve concerns fairly, drafting descriptions and supporting investigations.

You will contribute to policy improvements, facilitate learning with stakeholders and travel to remote communities to work with regional and ranger teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma in human resource management or business administration or equivalent
• At least three years’ experience in an HR generalist role and interest in workplace relations
• Strong cross-cultural communication and relationship building skills
• Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams; confidentiality and ethics

Responsibilities

• Advise employees and people leaders on employment matters (probation, performance, conduct, grievances, complaints, separations)
• Manage a varied caseload; resolve concerns promptly and fairly
• Draft position descriptions and clear correspondence; support workplace investigations
• Contribute to policy and process improvements; facilitate learning with stakeholders
• Occasional travel to remote communities to work with regional and ranger teams
