Job summary

Cox Purtell Staffing Services in Sydney seeks an experienced Employee Relations Partner for a 6-month contract. This hands-on, case-focused role supports managers and staff across Australia and New Zealand on workplace relations matters.

You will handle investigations, performance challenges, coaching, and documentation aligned to ANZ employment law, combining legal knowledge with empathy while managing your own caseload autonomously.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in ER/HR or related role with direct experience in workplace investigations and/or performance management.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand employment law.
• Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducting low-to-moderate complexity workplace investigations and producing clear, objective reports.
• Coaching managers through difficult performance conversations and design documentation aligned to ANZ law.
• Mediating interpersonal conflict with neutrality and care.
• Supporting employees through sensitive or crisis situations in partnership with stakeholders.

Employee Relations Partner | 6-Month Contract | Sydney | Up to $56.22 ph + super

We're looking for an experienced Employee Relations Partner to join a global technology company on a 6-month contract based in Sydney. This is a hands-on, case-focused role supporting managers and employees across Australia and New Zealand on all things workplace relations.

You'll be the frontline point of contact for performance challenges, conduct matters, and workplace investigations — bringing both legal knowledge and genuine empathy to every interaction.

Key Responsibiliti

• Conducting low-to-moderate complexity workplace investigations (retaliation, conduct, performance, hostile work environment) and producing clear, objective reports
• Coaching managers through difficult performance conversations and helping design documentation aligned to ANZ employment law
• Mediating interpersonal conflict before it escalates, with neutrality and care
• Supporting employees through sensitive or crisis situations in partnership with relevant stakeholders
• Maintaining case tracking tools, producing trend reporting, and contributing to continuous process improvement across the ANZ ER function

Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years in an ER, HR, or related role with direct experience in workplace investigations and/or performance management
• Strong working knowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand employment law
• A calm, composed presence in emotionally charged situations — you're the kind of person people trust
• Experience with HR ticketing systems and HRIS platforms; ServiceNow familiarity a bonus
• Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
• Comfortable working autonomously and managing your own caseload
