Job summary

Teys Australia is seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Manager to lead the WHS agenda at the Biloela processing site. You will develop and sustain systems to prevent injury, conduct risk assessments, and drive investigations while supporting a high-performing WH&S team.

You will maintain accurate reports and records, collaborate on continuous safety improvements, and ensure compliance with WH&S legislation and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a relevant field.
• Strong drive, commitment and organisational skills.
• Advanced computer and written communication skills (MS Word, Excel).
• Experience in safety roles within manufacturing, preferably food/heavy industry.
• Experience in developing and applying training plans.
• Knowledge of WH&S legislation, workers compensation and Human & Organisational Performance.
• Accreditation: First Aid, Workplace Training & Assessing, WH&S Officer, Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end WHS systems and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop, implement and maintain safety systems to prevent injuries.
• Lead and support the WH&S team with reporting and records.
• Facilitate risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Provide guidance on statutory obligations and compliance.

About the Role

Teys Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Workplace Health and Safety Manager to join our team at our Biloela processing site in Central Queensland. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will manage end-to-end Health and Safety systems, fostering a learning environment based on Human & Organisational Performance.

With the support of our General Manager WH&S , the role entails developing, implementing, and maintaining systems designed to prevent workplace injury and illness, facilitating risk assessments and incident investigations. Other responsibilities include providing leadership and support to the WH&S team, maintaining accurate reports and records, as well as collaborating on continuous improvement in the safety area.

About You

It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:

• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a relevant field
• Personal qualities of drive, commitment, enthusiasm, and well developed organisational skills
• Advanced computer (MS Word, Excel, Open Office) and written communication skills
• Successful experience working in a safety related role within a manufacturing environment, particularly if it is food or heavy industry
• Experience in the development and application of training plans
• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to advise and apply statutory obligations in respect to-
