Job summary

Amazon Australia is hiring multiple WHS Coordinators to join the Fulfillment Center team. You will work with the WHS team to uphold high safety standards, be trained in standard work and tools, and engage professionally with the FC workforce across Kemps Creek and Horsley Park.

The role is hourly with day or night shifts, potentially rotating. You will communicate issues, help with incident investigations, maintain safety records, conduct inspections, and coach managers to meet safety duties.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience using Microsoft Office.
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekends, nights or holidays.
• Bachelor's in Safety related field or Cert IV in WHS.

Responsibilities

• Identify and inform management of safety risks and improvement opportunities through inspections.
• Facilitate incident investigations.
• Maintain safety paperwork to comply with regulations.
• Enter safety incident data in internal database.
• Perform safety observations and audits.
• Coach Area Managers to complete safety responsibilities.
• May handle fire prevention or hazardous waste tasks as needed.
• Participate in process improvements and ensure actions are completed.

We currently have multiple vacancies for Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinators to join the Amazon Australia Team. This position is within the Fulfillment Center (FC), reporting into the WHS Manager. It requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within our FC. The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety and who can function as a role model and engage in a professional manner with the entire Fulfillment Center (FC) workforce.

These opportunities will be based on the following locations: Kemps Creek and Horsley Park.

This is an hourly role based on shift patterns. Work schedule can either be day or night shift and may rotate shifts based on business need.

Key job responsibilities

• Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly inspections
• Facilitate incident investigation process
• Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulations
• Enter Safety incident information in internal database in a timely manner
• Perform safety observations & audits
• Coach others (Area Managers etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, Inspections etc.)
• May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location
• Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• Bachelors in Safety related field or Cert IV in WHS

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in logistics
• Experience in data analysis
