Job summary

Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd is seeking an Interim Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator for the Step Up Pool at the Jandakot Fulfillment Center (PER4). The role reports to the WHS Manager and focuses on delivering high safety standards within the FC, working with the WHS team to model professional behavior and teamwork across the workforce.

The position is an interim opportunity; open to permanent and agency associates currently employed at PER4 FC.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork to work with the WHS team.
• Bachelor's degree in a safety related field or a Cert IV in Safety.

Responsibilities

• Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through inspections.
• Enter safety incident information in internal database in a timely manner.
• Perform safety observations, inspections and audits.
• Coach others to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, Inspections).
• May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety activities.
• Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion.

We are seeking Interim Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator's for our Step Up Pool at our Jandakot Fulfillment Center (PER4). This position is within the Fulfillment Center (FC), reporting into the WHS Manager. It requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within our FC. The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety and who can function as a role model and engage in a professional manner with the entire FC workforce.

*Interim Opportunity: This is an opportunity to step up into a WHS Coordinator role for a period of time, open to Permanent and Agency associates currently employed at PER4 Fulfillment Center.

Key job responsibilities

• Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly inspections
• Enter Safety incident information in internal database in a timely manner
• Perform safety observations, inspections and audits
• Coach others (Area Managers etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, Inspections etc.)
• May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location
• Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of workplace health & safety (WHS) related field experience
• Bachelors degree in a Safety related field or a Cert IV in Safety
