Job summary

Amazon Australia is hiring an Interim WHS Coordinator to join the Fulfillment Center safety team in Melbourne. The role reports to the WHS Manager and focuses on delivering high safety standards for the FC workforce.

The successful candidate will be trained in standard work and WHS tools, communicate effectively, and lead safety initiatives, audits, and incident investigations, with a flexible shift pattern and 40-hour weeks as required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) experience.
• Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.
• Bachelors in Safety related field or Cert IV in WHS

Responsibilities

• Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly inspections
• Facilitate incident investigation process
• Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulations
• Enter Safety incident information in internal database in a timely manner
• Perform safety observations & audits
• Coach others (Area Managers etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, Inspections etc.)
• May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location
• Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion

It requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within our FC. The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety and who can function as a role model and engage in a professional manner with the entire FC workforce.

*This is an hourly role based on shift patterns:
