Job summary

Suncorp's GIO division in Australia is seeking a Dispute Resolution Specialist to join the Personal Injury Dispute Resolution team. You will independently review disputed workers compensation decisions under NSW legislation, collaborating with claims teams, injured workers, employers and representatives to deliver clear, well-reasoned outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in workers compensation claims management or dispute resolution.
• Background in Dispute Resolution or as a Claims Specialist.
• Strong knowledge of NSW workers compensation legislation.
• Experience interpreting legislation and medical information.
• Excellent written communication and ability to prepare defensible decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with competing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent reviews of disputed workers compensation decisions.
• Assess reviews to affirm, amend or overturn decisions.
• Prepare clear, legally sound review determinations.
• Ensure reviews completed within 14 days.
• Engage with stakeholders to obtain required information.
• Identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute to dispute resolution strategies to improve outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with NSW legislation and SIRA guidelines.
