Job summary

Daikin Australia is seeking a hands-on Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to drive safety across national operations. You will spend time on-site with warehouse, operations and office teams, building trust and reinforcing a proactive safety culture.

You will report to the Head of Human Resources, bring deep WHS expertise, conduct risk assessments and lead incident investigations to protect staff and assets. This role offers growth within a global HVAC leader.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of WHS experience across multi-site operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings on-site and across sites.
  • Oversee incident investigations, near-miss reporting and hazard management.
  • Maintain and improve the Safety Management System in line with regulations.
  • Provide regular safety reports to executive leadership and regulators.

We are looking for a practical, safety minded individual who loves getting out onto the floor, walking the sites, and rolling up their sleeves alongside our warehouse, operational, and office teams. You will bridge the gap between compliance and day-to-day operations to champion a proactive safety culture where everyone goes home safely.Key Responsibilities Include:Get out on-site to build trust, conduct toolbox talks, lead safety briefings, and facilitate active, two-way open forums where staff feel confident reporting hazards early.Build strong, trusted relationships across departments and interstate sites to embed a proactive safety culture.Establish constant, two-way communication channels (toolbox talks, forums) and lead workplace safety committees.Oversee end-to-end incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and hazard management using a risk-based approach.Provide timely reporting to executive leadership on critical matters.Maintain and continuously improve our Safety Management System in compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and company standards.Act as primary liaison with SafeWork Australia and regulators.Analyse safety metrics to identify trends, standardise safety reporting across the business, and deliver monthly executive safety reports.About YouYou are a down-to-earth, collaborative WHS professional who thrives on being visible, approachable, and actively involved across multi-site environments.Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).Minimum 5 years of WHS experience across complex, multi-site, and multi-functional business operations. Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments is highly regarded.In-depth working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, statutory reporting, and industry best practices.Proven track record in risk assessments, incident investigations, WHS training facilitation, and data-driven reporting.
