Job summary

Effective People is seeking an APS6 Wintel Infrastructure Engineer for a national security/defence context. The role is onsite in ACT or VIC with a 12-month contract and potential extensions.

You will harden Windows infrastructure, implement security controls, and automate admin tasks while working in a sensitive national security environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in technical Cyber Security, hands-on enterprise security experience, and NV2 clearance.

Qualifications

• You've built at least 5 years of technical Cyber Security experience.
• You've worked hands-on with security across enterprise systems.
• You've implemented one or more Essential Eight Mitigation Strategies.
• You can use scripting or application development to automate system administration, vulnerability assessment or cyber-risk remediation.
• You're an Australian citizen.
• You must hold a current NV2 clearance or above.

APS6 Wintel Infrastructure Engineer - National Security / Defence

Location: ACT or VIC

Contract: 12 months, with 2 x 12-month extension options

Pay: $90 - $110 p/h including super (negotiable)

Work type: Full-time, up to 40 hours per week

Work arrangement: Onsite, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis

Clearance: Must hold a current NV2 clearance or above

About the Role

This is a hands-on Wintel security engineering role with our Federal Government client. You will help harden enterprise Windows infrastructure and improve security across a sensitive national security environment. You will implement security controls, develop SOPs, prototype security configurations and support technical design and remediation activities. You will also use scripting or application development to automate administration, vulnerability assessment and cyber-risk remediation.
