Job summary

ASC Pty Ltd, Australia’s submarine company, is seeking a WHSE Advisor in Adelaide to support safety frameworks and continuous improvement across a complex, high-risk environment.

You will advise leaders and teams, develop risk assessments and safe operating procedures, and coach stakeholders in WHSE systems and compliance. A current police check and security clearance may be required due to national security considerations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety Management or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years' experience in a WHSE Advisor or similar role within a large, high-risk organisation.
• Strong knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation, relevant standards and their practical application.
• Working knowledge of high-risk activities, environmental requirements and associated controls.
• Exposure to incident investigation methodologies such as ICAM.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical WHSE advice and guidance to leaders, employees and key stakeholders.
• Support the development and review of risk assessments, safe operating procedures and high-risk activities.
• Coach and mentor stakeholders in WHSE systems, assurance activities, inspections and compliance requirements.
• Facilitate incident investigations and provide advice on appropriate actions and regulatory requirements.
• Support the implementation of WHSE risk reduction initiatives and safe systems of work.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and participate in WHSE risk, governance and consultation forums.
• Support WHSE consultation and communication activities to strengthen workforce engagement and safety outcomes.
• Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across WHSE processes, systems and workplace practices.
