Job summary

The Wellbeing Specialist at Suncorp in Newcastle is the recognised injury management and recovery expert for NSW Workers Compensation Tail Claims. You will provide strategic, technical and professional guidance to Injury Management Advisors and claims teams, using governance, quality assurance and coaching to promote evidence-based practice and legislative compliance.

• Establish consistent injury management standards and evidence-based practices across Tail Claims.
• Coach Injury Management Advisors and claims teams to strengthen clinical reasoning and technical capability.
• Review injury management decisions, quality outcomes and compliance to identify areas for improvement.
• Analyse medical, rehabilitation, legislative and performance information to guide claims strategies.
• Partner with claims leaders and external specialists to address recovery barriers and improve portfolio outcomes.

About the Role

The Wellbeing Specialist is the recognised injury management and recovery expert within the NSW Workers Compensation Tail Claims business. You will provide strategic, technical and professional guidance to Injury Management Advisors and claims teams. Through expert advice, governance, quality assurance and coaching, you will support consistent, evidence-based practice and legislative compliance. Your work will influence complex claims strategies, strengthen technical capability and improve rehabilitation, return to work and customer outcomes across the portfolio.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated experience in workers compensation, injury management, occupational rehabilitation or a related field.
• Advanced knowledge of injury management principles, recovery frameworks, rehabilitation practices and workers compensation legislation.
• Experience providing specialist technical advice on complex injury management matters and long-tail claims.
• Proven capability in coaching, mentoring and developing technical expertise in others.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting clinical, operational, legislative and performance information.
• Highly developed communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
