Job summary

Suncorp is seeking a Recoveries and Settlements Consultant on a 12-month contract across Melbourne, Brisbane or Toowoomba. You will manage a portfolio of claims, negotiate settlements and deliver customer-focused outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include reviewing claim information, progressing cases within authority, and maintaining compliance. This role offers hybrid working, up to 4 days from home, and extensive onboarding.

Recoveries and Settlements Consultant
12-month Contract | Full-time | Melbourne, Brisbane or Toowoomba

Join Suncorp's Recoveries and Settlements team, where you'll manage a portfolio of claims, identify recovery opportunities, negotiate fair settlement outcomes and deliver positive outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

This is a great opportunity to build capability in a specialised area, strengthen your negotiation and decision-making skills, and gain exposure to a broad range of claims and recovery scenarios.

What you'll do

• Manage, proactively progress and finalise a portfolio of claims across Recoveries and Settlements
• Identify recovery opportunities and negotiate fair, commercially sound settlement outcomes
• Review claim information and estimates to make informed decisions within delegated authority
• Communicate with customers and third parties, including managing complaints, vulnerability and financial hardship with empathy
• Manage excess collection and maintain accurate claims records
• Balance customer needs with commercial outcomes while maintaining strong risk and compliance standards
• Manage competing priorities and meet customer commitments
• Contribute to team performance and continuous improvement

Role details

• 12-month contract commencing 19 October 2026
• Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
• Melbourne, Brisbane or Toowoomba
• Salary: $86,900 including 12% super
• Hybrid working, with up to 4 days from home subject to leader discretion
• 5 weeks in-office training plus 2 weeks supported onboarding
• Limited WFH during training, depending on business needs
