Job summary

ASSA ABLOY in Forest Glen, QLD is seeking a Welder to join the Spence Doors team. You will fabricate, weld and assemble metal components for timber and metal doors, following detailed drawings and quality standards to ensure reliable, high‑quality outcomes.

You’ll operate sheet metal machinery and welding equipment, use MIG and TIG processes, read tape measures and workshop drawings, and perform basic quality checks while keeping the work area safe and orderly.

Qualifications

• Sheet metal or equivalent work experience.
• Welding experience required.
• Read tape measure and workshop drawings.
• Follow WHS guidelines and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble and weld thin gauge metal components to drawings.
• MIG and TIG light gauge steel welding.
• Grind and clean steel; polish stainless steel.
• Inspect welds for quality and integrity; ensure standards.
• Read and interpret workshop drawings; fit components.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain workspace.
