Job summary

AUSTBORE™ is seeking highly skilled Welders for a full-time permanent role in Mackay, Queensland. You will read and interpret project plans, perform fabrication and welding on steel and aluminium components, and ensure quality and safety standards are met on every job.

This position requires a trade certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent, with post-trade experience and a proactive, reliable attitude for delivering excellence to clients in the mining sector.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret project plans, engineering drawings, blueprints and other written instructions
• Perform fabrication and repair works on metal structures and components
• Work with steel, aluminium and other alloys
• Weld small and large components such as beams and pipelines
• Follow safety guidelines to prevent rework and injuries
• Read drawings and blueprints to complete tasks accurately
• Use hand and power tools including grinders and drills
• Conduct quality checks on completed work

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans, engineering drawings and blueprints
• Perform fabrication and repair works to drawings and specifications
• Weld components using appropriate welding techniques
• Work with steel, aluminium and other alloys
• Use grinders, drills and cutting tools
• Conduct quality checks and ensure safety guidelines are followed
• Monitor machinery usage and temperature
• Maintain clean, safe work environment
