Job summary

Laser Wizard Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled metal fabricator in Sydney to perform sheet metal and welding tasks. You will read blueprints, select and prepare materials, and shape metal components using bending, grinding, and drilling techniques.

Responsibilities include operating MIG/TIG/arc welding equipment, inspecting parts for quality, and collaborating with the design team to meet project requirements. Safety and equipment maintenance are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in both structural and precision sheet metal work is essential.
• Minimum 3-5 years of sheet metal and welding experience required.
• Trade certificate in welding or related field required.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency required.

Your Key Duties & Responsibilities will be:

Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements of the project.

Selecting and preparing the appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for the fabrication and welding processes.

Dressing, Cutting, shaping, and forming metal components using various techniques such as bending, Grinding and drilling.

Operating welding equipment and performing various welding techniques (such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding) to join metal parts together according to specifications.

Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the fabricated components or structures by inspecting and measuring them against the provided specifications.

Conducting repairs or modifications to existing metal structures or components as needed.

Following safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.

Collaborating with Managers, designers, or other team members to discuss project requirements, resolve issues, and ensure the successful completion of the project.

Maintaining and cleaning welding equipment and tools to ensure their proper functioning.
