Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a passionate Weekend Chef for an aged care facility in Wembley, WA. You will prepare fresh meals, support busy kitchen operations and ensure high standards of hygiene and quality for residents and staff.

Ideal candidates hold a trade qualification in commercial cookery, with experience in a busy kitchen and a focus on safe, dietary-compliant meal production. The role offers a weekend roster and staff benefits in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent required.
• Experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Aged care or volume catering experience desirable.
• Knowledge of food safety and dietary requirements essential.

Responsibilities

Cater Care is looking for a passionate Weekend Chef to join our kitchen team at an aged care facility in Wembley, Western Australia.

Put your culinary skills to work preparing fresh, quality meals in a busy hospitality environment. You’ll take pride in delivering great food, maintaining high kitchen standards and creating an enjoyable dining experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present fresh, high-quality meals for residents and staff
• Support daily kitchen operations and bulk meal preparation
• Assemble salads, sandwiches, and cold dishes with consistency and care
• Prepare texture-modified foods as required
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen
• Follow strict food safety and hygiene standards

About You

• Trade Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Previous experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
• Aged care or volume catering experience is desirable
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and special dietary requirements
• Strong communication, organisation and time management skills
• Reliable, positive approach with a passion for quality food
