Job summary

Bendigo Bank is seeking an experienced risk leader at Senior Manager level to provide independent second-line oversight across the Wealth portfolio within Group Risk. You will challenge First Line, influence executives, and guide governance with evidence-based risk commentary and dashboards.

Reporting to the CRO, Consumer & Digital, you will operationalise risk strategies, evaluate exposures, and ensure changes align with Board risk appetite.

Qualifications

• Substantial senior-level experience in banking, wealth, or financial services with deep risk management expertise.
• Experience applying non-financial and operational risk frameworks to regulatory standards.
• Ability to provide formal challenge to senior leadership and translate complex regulation into practical solutions.
• Proven capability in executive-level reporting and influencing governance bodies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver second-line challenge and oversight to 1LoA on risk identification and control effectiveness.
• Synthesize risk data to draft papers and dashboards for Divisional Risk Committees, Executive submissions, and Board papers.
• Lead Line 2 reviews and thematic deep dives per the assurance plan, ensuring remediation actions close.
• Coach First Line partners to foster a speak-up culture and balanced decision-making.
