Job summary

Vac More Civil is hiring leading hand pipelayers for immediate start on water and wastewater projects around Brisbane and the Gold Coast. You will join crews delivering civil infrastructure with a focus on quality and safety.

Ideal candidates have 5 years pipelaying experience, reading drawings, installing pits and pipes to height, and supervising teams. A White Card and relevant tickets are essential. Ongoing work across multiple regional projects is offered.

Qualifications

• 5 years of water/wastewater pipelaying experience.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Install pits and pipes to correct heights.
• Experience with pipe lasers and level setting.
• Commitment to safe work practices and quality.

Responsibilities

• Install pits and pipes to correct heights per drawings.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Supervise crews, coordinate daily activities and productivity.
• Complete site paperwork, pre-starts, SWMS and reports.
• Uphold safety and quality on civil works.

WE'RE HIRING – LEADING HAND PIPELAYERS IMMEDIATE START

Vac More Civil has been involved with major infrastructure projects and subdivision developments in civil contracting and are currently expanding due to current and upcoming projects. With strong, long-standing relationships across local utility authorities and developers, we have a solid pipeline of ongoing work across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and surrounding regions in a variety of projects across water and wastewater infrastructure.

We are looking for motivated individuals who take pride in their work and have experience in civil construction to join our crews and continue the ongoing reputation and growth of Vac More.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 5 years experience in water and wastewater construction, maintenance, repairs or pipelaying and working with underground services and civil infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Install pits and pipes to correct heights
• Experience and sound knowledge of using pipe lasers and setting levels and heights
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, safe work practices and site procedures
• Ability to complete daily paperwork, including pre-starts, SWMS and other site documentation
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
• A proactive approach to workplace health and safety
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• A reliable, punctual and positive attitude
• Previous experience supervising crews, coordinating daily activities and managing site productivity.

LICENCES & QUALIFICATIONS

• Construction Induction White Card – essential
• Certificate III in Pipelaying or Civil Construction – desirable
• Confined Space Entry certification – desirable
• Asbestos Class A and B ticket – desirable
• Other relevant civil construction tickets and competencies will be highly regarded
