Job summary

Nationwide Crane Hire is seeking an experienced Dogman to join our team at our Baringa or Kallangur depots in SE Queensland. You will support crane operators, select lifting gear, and guide crane movements to ensure safe lifts across varied projects.

Ideal candidates hold a current DG licence, HR licence, White Card and a strong safety mindset, with flexibility for overtime as needed on construction and infrastructure sites.

Qualifications

• Current DG – Dogging High Risk Work Licence.
• Demonstrated experience as a Dogman in crane hire or construction.
• Current HR Driver's Licence and a Construction White Card.
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Strong understanding of safe lifting practices and crane operations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with crane operators and crews.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and willingness to work additional hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist crane operators and rigging crews to perform lifts safely.

THE ROLE

As an experienced Dogman, you'll play an important role in delivering safe and efficient lifting operations across a variety of projects.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Working alongside our crane operators and rigging crews to safely execute lifting operations.

Selecting, inspecting and using appropriate lifting gear and equipment.

Slinging loads and directing crane movements using clear communication and hand signals.

Assisting with crane setup, lift preparation and general site operations.

Following lift plans, SWMS and site-specific safety procedures.

Working across a variety of construction, civil, infrastructure and general crane hire projects.

Maintaining a professional attitude when dealing with clients, site supervisors and fellow crew members.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're not looking for someone fresh out of training. We want experienced Dogmen who can confidently step onto a job site and get to work.

Current DG – Dogging High Risk Work Licence.

Demonstrated experience working as a Dogman in the crane hire or construction industry.

Current HR Driver's Licence.

Construction White Card.

Current driver's licence and reliable transport.

Strong understanding of safe lifting practices, load control and crane operations.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with crane operators and site crews.

A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Flexibility to work additional hours when required.

Highly regarded:

Intermediate Rigging (RI) High Risk Work Licence.

Experience working with Franna, All Terrain and other mobile cranes.

General crane hire experience across a variety of sites and lifting operations.

Working at Heights and Electrical Awareness training.

Experience working on major construction and infrastructure projects.
