Job summary

Byron Bay Crane Hire is seeking a hands-on crane operator to work across local sites using Franna and slewing cranes. You’ll perform crane operation, dogging, rigging, and routine maintenance while delivering friendly, reliable service to customers.

In a small team, you’ll contribute to day-to-day operations and may take on broader responsibilities as the business grows, including supervising jobs and assisting with quotes.

Job description

You'll be operating our Franna cranes and small slewing crane across a wide variety of local jobs. Your day-to-day work will include crane operation, dogging and some rigging, looking after and maintaining machinery, keeping equipment clean and presentable, dealing with customers and generally pitching in to help the crew get the job done. Because we're a small business, you'll be a valuable part of the team. For someone who wants it, there's also genuine opportunity to progress as the business grows, which could mean taking on more responsibility in areas such as supervising jobs, quoting, estimating and helping manage day-to-day operations.

About you

• Experience operating Frannas, slewing cranes or crane trucks highly regarded
• Rigging experience or a mechanical trade/background highly regarded

We have a loyal customer base, a good crew and a huge variety of interesting work - all within around 30 minutes of Byron Bay. Our normal hours are around 7am-3pm, Monday to Friday, with relatively little overtime. Most of our jobs are within about 30 minutes of Byron Bay. We take our work seriously, but we're not a corporate operation. There's minimal paperwork, a lighthearted crew and a relaxed working environment.

A vehicle and phone can potentially be arranged for the right person
