Job summary

Rokon in Melbourne is seeking a Watercart Operator to support road and dust suppression works across diverse projects. You will operate water carts, perform pre-start checks and adhere to safety procedures under supervision.

The role requires GPS proficiency with Topcon/Leica/Trimble, a current driver’s licence and watercart ticket, and a collaborative, safety‑minded approach on site.

Qualifications

• Prior watercart operation experience in subdivision settings.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your key duties include, but are not limited to:

• Operate and manoeuvre water carts safely around site.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and daily equipment checks.
• Follow and ensure safe operating procedures at all times.
• Using GPS equipment such as Topcon, Leica or Trimble systems.
• Fill and refill water tanks from designated water sources.
• Apply water to roads, haul roads, stockpiles, and work areas for dust suppression.
• Monitor water levels, pumps, hoses, spray bars, and cannon systems.

About you

To be considered, you need to demonstrate the following:

• At least 2 years' experience operating a watercart in a subdivision setting.
• GPS, Topcon or Trimble experience is desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Current driver’s licence and plant tickets (watercart ticket required.)
• Safety focused attitude.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Flexible to work and move across machines and sites as needed by the business.
• Competent radio communication skills.
• OH&S Induction card (white card.)

Shortlisted candidates will need to complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
