Job summary

Excel Contracting, an established civil excavation company working throughout Sydney, is seeking a reliable watercart operator to join our growing team. The role is casual with a potential path to permanency, offering opportunities to work on Sydney’s largest construction sites and alongside experienced colleagues.

You will operate and maintain water carts, perform pre-op inspections, and ensure safety and environmental regulations are followed.

Qualifications

• Requires an up-to-date HR licence with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience operating water carts or similar heavy vehicle equipment on civil works sites.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and site inductions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water cart equipment to transport water to designated sites.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections to ensure safe working condition.
• Follow traffic and workplace safety regulations while transporting loads.
• Maintain accurate records of water deliveries.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of water cart equipment.
• Adhere to environmental regulations for water usage and disposal.
• Respond to changing site conditions and project demands.

What you'll be doing

• Operating and maintaining water cart equipment to transport water to designated construction and civil works sites
• Conducting pre-operation inspections of the water cart to ensure it is in safe working condition
• Following all traffic and workplace safety regulations whilst transporting loads
• Maintaining accurate records of water deliveries
• Performing basic maintenance and cleaning of the water cart equipment
• Adhering to environmental regulations and best practices for water usage and disposal
• Responding promptly to changing site conditions and project demands

What we're looking for

• Current HR licence with a clean driving record
• Proven experience operating water carts or similar heavy vehicle equipment in construction or civil works environments
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations, including site inductions and safety protocols
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with site teams and supervisors
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks associated with water cart operation
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work flexibly across multiple sites as require
