Job summary

Downer Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Water team based in Walloon and/or Fortitude Valley, QLD. You will provide technical expertise to support the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager, you will contribute to planning, design reviews, constructability assessments, budgets and schedules, while ensuring safety and quality throughout project delivery.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural discipline.
• At least 3 years of project engineering experience in water or wastewater in SE Queensland.
• Experience managing subcontractors and developing scopes of work.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting and cost reporting for projects.
• Experience developing and managing project schedules.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing project environments while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and support to project delivery teams.
• Support project planning, design reviews and constructability assessments.
• Assist with project budgets, cost reporting and forecasting.
• Monitor project schedules, performance and progress.
• Manage subcontractors and review progress claims and variations.
• Support procurement activities and engagement of suppliers/subcontractors.
• Drive quality outcomes across project delivery.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and constructability improvements.
• Ensure safety, environmental and maintenance requirements are considered.
