Job summary

Downer is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Water team in Queensland. You will deliver complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise from planning through to delivery.

The role requires coordination with Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes. You will lead technical delivery, manage budgets, develop scopes of work and drive value engineering while maintaining strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in Civil/Structural or Mechanical.
• 4+ years' project engineering experience in water/wastewater in South East Queensland.
• Experience managing subcontractors and drafting scopes of work.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and reporting skills.
• Proven ability to manage large construction schedules and deliver safe projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management.

The Opportunity

Downer's Energy & Utilities business is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Water team.

This is an opportunity to take a key role in the delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise across planning, design, construction and project delivery. You'll work closely with Project Managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

• Providing technical advice and engineering support across project delivery

What we are looking for

• Engineering qualification either Civils/Structural or Mechanical
• 4+ years' project engineering experience within the water and/or wastewater industry in South East Queensland
• Experience managing subcontractors and developing scopes of work and subcontract agreements
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting
• Experience developing and managing large construction project schedules
• Demonstrated experience driving quality outcomes across complex project delivery
• Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• The ability to build effective relationships with clients, project teams and other stakeholders
• A strong commitment to safety and Zero Harm
