Job summary

Mackay Regional Council is seeking an experienced Team Leader Water Treatment Aquatic Facilities to oversee operations across its swimming pools and aquatic facilities. You will lead day-to-day water treatment operations, coordinate staff, ensure water quality and plant reliability, and support improvements.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of water chemistry, and experience in filtration, chemical dosing and incident response.

Qualifications

• Lead and coordinate daily water treatment operations across aquatic facilities.
• Supervise and support team members with tasks, performance, coaching and development.
• Oversee water quality testing, review results and ensure timely chemical dosing.
• Coordinate maintenance of filtration systems, dosing equipment and plant infrastructure.
• Lead responses to water quality incidents and plant faults per procedures and escalation paths.
• Promote a safety-first culture and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with legislation and standards across facilities.
• Maintain auditable records of water quality data and chemical usage.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to staff.
