Job summary

ISS is actively seeking experienced industrial plumbers or boilermakers to support maintenance and preventative water pipeline projects in Blackwater, Queensland. You’ll join a team focused on safety, quality and reliability in a remote, 10‑hour day, 9‑day roster environment.

Successful candidates will bring solid hands‑on trade qualifications, experience with pipelines and large asset fleets, and a commitment to working in challenging conditions.

Qualifications

• Current trade qualification in Plumbing & Gas Fitting or Boiler Maker.
• Experience with pipeline maintenance and preventative works.
• Ability to work in a facilities maintenance environment with large asset bases.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain water pipelines and assets.
• Inspect for leaks, corrosion, or damage along pipeline routes, pumps and motors.
• Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance for safe, efficient operation.
• Operate valves, pumps, and related equipment to control water flow.
• Respond to alarms and incidents, isolating sections for repair.
• Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance and incidents.

Job description

We’re seeking experienced industrial plumbers or boilermakers with a background in Maintenance and Preventative Water Pipeline works. You will bring a can-do attitude, teamwork, flexibility, and a strong commitment to safety and quality; Based in Blackwater, you will be working 10 hour days on a 9-day fortnight roster.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining our clients' assets, contributing to the smooth running of our operations. Working 10-hour days in a demanding, remote environment - means solid fitness and resilience is essential!

About the role:

• Monitor and maintain pipelines
• Inspect for leaks, corrosion, or damage along the pipeline route, pumps and motors.
• Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Operate valves, pumps, and associated equipment to control water flow.
• Respond to alarms or issues promptly, including isolating sections for repair.
• Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and incidents.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Participate in an on-call roster once per month

What we are looking for:

• Current Trade Qualification in Plumbing and Gas Fitting OR Current Boiler Maker Trade (Queensland Trade Recognised)
• Demonstrated experience with Pipeline Maintenance
• Previous experience working in a facilities maintenance environment involving large volumes of assets and programmed servicing schedules.
• Current QLD Coal Board Medical
• Must be located in Blackwater and able to work a 9 day fortnight, Mon-Fri week 1 and Mon-Thu week 2
• Must have an unrestricted QLD Driver’s Licence
• Must have a Construction White Card (CPCCOHS1001A - Work safely in the construction industry or CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry) – card must be issued after 2015 to be accepted
• Must have a Police Clearance less than 12 months old
